Just wanted to find out if you would consider developing an application compatible with Linux. Linux like Mac OS is an extremely stable operating system which is required when performing a live set. The last thing you want to happen is an update takes place whilst you are performing as can happen with windows.
Hi and welcome to the forum. I don’t think they will be doing that due to verious reasons that have been stated in the above. Besides drivers for all the different dj hardware are also an issue
Hey @djweji74 - Welcome to the Community. Thanks for your interest in djay!
We’ll pass your added interest in djay for Linux along to our dev team for continued consideration. Feel free to share any more suggestions you might have
It would be cool to get DVS from algoriddim djay on linux! I think this would be a breakthrough! I’ve been using Linux a lot lately and it would be great to have a top-end DVS solution for working as a dj on this system!
Hello everyone. I’ve changed this topic from a Question to a Suggestion so that everyone can cast their Vote for it at the top right. This helps the dev team to gauge user demand for this. Thanks!
It’s a shame that it’s not yet available for Linux, a system that is gaining more and more followers every day, and if it’s not one of the largest communities, it’s somewhere else. But I don’t understand that decision.
Una pena que todavia no salga bajo Linux, sistema que dia a dia gana mas adeptos y si no es una de las mas grandes comunidades, anda x ahi. Pero de onda, no entiendo esa decision.
It would be a game changer to have a native running APP for Linux Gaming Handhelds.
Due to the market of gaming handhelds keeps on growing and the side effect, that Valve is going to open (collab with manufacturers) their distro to be able to run natively on third party devices, it would be a game changer, if djay Pro would develop a natively running APPs for the main gaming distros: *1)
Fedora (BatoceraOS) >> Store: Flathub
Arch (SteamOS 3) >> Store: Steam
From my point of view those handhelds combine the power of new generation CPUs and the convenience of an IPad to carry around for smaller gigs.
I understand Algoriddim as the most community driven and innovative DJ software out on the market, serving the most platforms/ devices/ hardware, so (to be the first) adding gaming handhelds would complete your product portfolio.
*1) Running in bottles/ virtual machines is a mess due to non support (passthru, performance, …)
Hi @Cascedy, welcome to the community! Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve merged your new topic with this existing one so we can keep things organized and count the cumulative user votes. Please cast your vote for this as well at the top left of the page so we can gauge user demand for this. Thanks!
Hi there and thanks for giving this some consideration as I know getting drivers to work successfully for different controllers will be difficult however, I think the more popular distributions like Ubuntu to and deen based operating systems would probably be the way to go
