Interest check for Lexicon DJ with Djay Pro support

If you can get your Djay library on macOS then you can import it into Lexicon. From there, just sync to Rekordbox and make the USB. No need for any CSV files then.

So been using Lexicon last week or so in a Work Flow consists of transfer my Engine playlists to lexicon then creating automatic cue points within lexicon which is great the transfer over Djay Pro which is great but was just wandering the ETA on fixing the beatgrid so it’s flexible because of course when I anylize tracks in lexicon and then transfer to Djay Pro beatgrid way off any news when this be updated as I love the software

And keep up the brilliant work and hopefully keep the integration with Djay Pro going and it gets better plus would love the ability to add streaming tracks into the smarlists when created within lexicon thanks

Yeah there are a few outstanding issues, one of which is beatgrids not always being accurate. I haven’t entirely figured it out yet but I need to spend some more time on it. It would help if you can upload your Lexicon database (in the Help menu at the top) and put a few track titles in the description that you saw bad beatgrids on. Hopefully I can reproduce the problem with that.

About those streaming tracks, what do you mean there? They are treated as normal tracks so should be fine in smartlists. Maybe I don’t understand though

Ok I’m at work now but will get chance over the weekend put them tracks up it’s no big deal just thought I could anylize them in Lexicon and they would be fine in Djay Pro I understand that Djay Pro has the best beatgridding in the market so to get auto cues in and transfer between libraries is why I subscribe to your platform thanks

Plus I’m new to your platform and just finding my feet with it tell me this if I import my playlists from Djay Pro into lexicon does it not carry over Djay pro beatgrid data

Yes it should import Djay beatgrid data too. But not fluid beatgrids, that’s not supported in Lexicon

Will fluid beatgrid be supported anytime soon

Oh, for this to work I need to run Djay Pro on macOS. I’m using Djay Pro on iPad only but read in this other thread Export playlist to use on Rekordbox - #11 by Slak_Jaw that I could transfer djay media library database file.

Could I then import this into Lexicon (on Win11) or does dJay Pro need to be installed on that Win11 computer?

Fuild beatgrids won’t be supported, it’s not currently possible in Lexicon. No other DJ app supports it either so Djay only currently.

@tfmeier You can try but the iPad database is slightly different than the macOS/Windows Djay database so it may or may not work.

Hey @Christiaan

Just got a chance to come back around to Lexicon.

Do i need to download any beta to try it out for DJay or I can use the official download link?
Do you have any tutorial on how to make the most out of it?

I’m using Mixtour pro controller, if that make any difference

The official link has everything for Djay. There’s no guide because it’s beta but it works the same way as other DJ apps. Just import or sync (export) your library to and from Djay

is there a different process for using/sync with iPad?

It’s almost the same, one extra step. I wrote a quick guide here

What are the benefits of using djay collections/playlists over say Apple Library or Serato crates? Is purely the ability to edit Meta data within djay or faster searching? Or reording tracks?

I also use lexicon and haven’t tried the export to djay option as exporting to iTunes xml has been working fine more me within djay

As a Rekordbox User and now subscribed to both Lexicon and DJay Pro, I’m very interested and using the current version of Lexicon with its minimal DJay Pro support to see how well it fits my needs. If there are updates to make the process easier that would be great.
