Pioneer DDJ REV5 jog wheels not accurate

Thanks for the additional feedback @Five-0. I’ll pass this on.

It took me a few moments to understand that there are two levels of using DDJ Rev5 Jog wheels in combination with Djay Pro :

  • lightly pressing the jogs leads to pitch bend.
  • Pressing stronger leads to shifting in the song.
  • Then the strong press, combined with shift is fast shifting.

All in all, I totally agree there is a feeling of the whole thing floating a bit.
Not precise at all. It is like Djay not taking into account little or slow moves (kind of lack or sensitivity). At least, it is my own feeling.

For fine adjustments of cue points settings, I usually end up using the mouse, or iPad screen.
Which we shouldn’t have to do.

Room for improvement indeed.

My auto payment for djay is just about to hit my account. But yet I don’t use it. Only to check for an update to fix the Rev 5 Jogs.

Thanks for checking in @Five-0. Unfortunately, we don’t have any updates to share at the moment.

Seems like they did some work on the jog wheels! :folded_hands:. Now if they can work on the crossfader. The cuts are not as defined. It’s like y’all are not using all of its sensors. So like on 2 click flares and crabs you really notice it’s weakness.

Hi @Five-0, have you tried enabling Crossfader Cutting Mode?

Ok that made it a lot better. :folded_hands:. Gonna do some practicing on this week and a gig to see how it really feels

You’re welcome @Five-0

Used djay with with the Rev 5 at a gig last night. Tried with the MacBook and IPad. Scratching is still off. It feels like an old worn out belt drive turntable. The Rev 5 must be a horrible nightmare for the dev team. It’s the worst jog wheel response to anything I’ve used with djay…. Hopefully they continue to work on it
.

Thanks for the continued feedback @Five-0

I upgraded my firmware on my rev 5 & also updated djay to 5.4.4. And it’s spot on now! Thank you dev team :folded_hands:

Excellent! Good to hear. Thanks for confirming @Five-0

The jogs still needs work. I guess if official support happens it will be much better . Because the iPad with flx10 feels just like Serato & much better than the rev5

Thanks for the additional input @Five-0

Rev 5 official Jog wheel support.

What settings do you use for the Flx10 and the jogwheels? I switched my Rev5 for the Flx10, but scratching with the iPad isn’t really any better on the Flx10. Is it different for you?

Yes. The FlX 10 responds normal for me with the iPad using the built in settings

Thanks for sharing @Five-0
