Cant agree more…let down again this evening trying to mix with poor internet connection. Withou offline access I need to reconsider if I will continue to use my IDJPro at all.
The point here is that nothing will be more reliable than have it in a local (or “available off line”) songs.
And it woldn’t be since we do have it as an option in Spotify
It’s just a case of implementation and/or partnership terms between Algoriddim and Spotfy.
It will really take deejay to another level
yeah and we wouldn’t have bought this shit
Clearly software developers incrementally add features prioritising the minimum for version 1 to get it on the market ‘just’ working. I’m sure we can expect improved functionality, we just want it all now please!
it’s pretty misleading in your description of the new mac software “Spotify integration in djay includes all of your existing playlists, starred and SAVED songs”… I just blew 50 bucks on this.
I agree that offline use of spotify integration would be awesome and I am hoping that this will eventually be possible, but I also think that some of the comments here are pretty negative considering that Algoriddim was innovative enough to be the first DJ App that offers this integration! Having access to millions of songs is insane.
I just played a live set at a party for 4 hours using Djay2 and spotify with a wireless connection and didnt have a single issue or delay. This software rocks!!
Admittedly you have an issue if you are in a club in a cellar somewhere with thick walls and no wireless.
It would definitely be a good thing for Algoriddim to figure this out with Spotify before a competitor comes up with something similar offline.
+1 for offline support
Djay Pro on MAC does NOT support offline playlists
I got the usual response around not being able to view offline content of another App from Algoriddim. They didnt write it off completely though saying they would add it to the feature list.
Come on Algoriddim, pull your finger out and make this the killer feature we all want
+1 for offline support djay Pro Mac
+1 for offline support for spotify on mac!
I can never rely on wifi / 3G / LTE on a job!
Sorry to the previous 2 comments, but we are talking about IOS and DJAY 2 aren’t we?
I’m sure Mac and DJAY pro supports offline???
I could be wrong?
Perhaps it would be easier to understand if it was made clear that as a secondary user of Spotify’s media, that DJay has no legal rights to the music offline? Licensed only to use in Spotify as offline, as that is a USP for Spotify’s unique users and target audience.
It must have taken an almost immeasurable effort for Spotify to have convinced the majority of the music business to sign over the rights to its music on a moderately slow return in an act of faith. The idea that they would jeopardise this when they are supposedly driving traffic toward the music business, not to a position where all ownership was redundant. For the sake of whatever Djay can offer them for the hard won privilege of this position, is of course laughable. At least in the short term.
However I do wish that I’d been made aware of this before purchasing the software. I’m pretty sure I would have opted for it anyway. It’s just that I found out after I had bought it.
To many people this will appear a sleight of hand. There was already an agreement for using music offline with Spotify, on both platforms, and perhaps naively some of us made a Quantum leap to our ideal scenario.
It was just the way it happened, that has left people unsatisfied. If the wording had been right, maybe a few less customers initially, but more than likely satisfied customers.
Because it isn’t advertised clearly enough?
Spotify offline playlist integration would be a killer feature which would catapult the software into another leauge. I’m sure there are problems in terms of technical practicality, otherwise this feature would have been available from the start.
An update was just released to the iPhone app that allows “Support for saving Spotify songs.” Not sure if this is the feature we’ve all been hoping for, but if it is, YAY!!!
i was in the same situation and i was more than frustated. i was a kind of “shock” the offline mode of spotify didnt work. i required me to connect my iphone via cable to have internet connection, and i prayed that please nobody call me on the phone. sorry for my english, i’m not a native speaker.
i didnt now that djay pro was not able to play spotify playlists without i-connection. i am fresh in the dj business (local dance scene) and i bought myself a macbook for this. i searched for a proper software and found djay pro. the most dj’s in my dance scene use djay, and than the offer with spotify - wow, that must be my software. i was frustated when i realised that djay will not work with spotify offline. for me was the spotify thing a buy-desicion, they dont lie in the commercial videos but also dont inform directly that it only works if you have an internet connection. a smart art of marketing, thank you. i am sorry for my english, i am not a native speaker.
steven said it, as it is. you try to fool people with your marketing. you do a lot for you image spotify, respect.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Spotify OFFLINE playlists.
I have the full version of DJay 2 for IPAD and have the Premium Subscription to Spotify, allowing access to offline playlists.
Djay currently does not support offline playlists. Will this function be added to DJay 2?
Yes yes yes! We need this badly! Without this feature the app cannot compete as a professional dj solution.
Your explanation is confusing because I know that you can play offline tracks from Soundcloud via the Ejay mixing app. It would appear they found a way around this sand boxing technique. I really hope you can too!
