Hi from Madrid Spain, i work with mi ipad air 2 and my djay2 and it runs fantastic but i would like to play my spotify sons with out internet connection. At the momento it is not allowed. Do you think it could be support in coming updates?. It would be great.

Thank you.

The “sandboxing” issue should only apply to iOS and not to djay pro for mac. So what is the hold up? I just read Apples Docs about sandboxing for Mac Apps and sandboxing is not required for mac apps but optional…

As far as I can tell this only applies to iOS and not djay pro for mac.

Hi Warren can you tell us if Apple music will work with offline playlist Djay 2

I can understand not allowing this for iOS devices. Not for nothing I am not sure how reliable that would be anyways. Djay Pro should by all means get this feature.

I am going to level with you here. I am from a more professional arena and I can promise you the ONLY reason Djay is even being mentioned on this level is the Spotify integration and the recent CDJ-2000Nexus update.

Two bits of advice get the scrolling waveforms going with the CDJ-2000Nexus’s and get the cache support for Djay Pro. I can also promise you this is single-handedly deterring other professional DJ’s who influence. The reasons the iOS apps even came to fruition or are relevant. Shit rolls downhill if you know what I mean.

In all fairness Djay was $50 before they even allowed Spotify use at all so not the best approach I would say. They did the work and offered it to us for the price of… FREE. If anything I see this as an added bonus. No Professional DJ should rely on the use of music they don’t own anyways. As a matter of fact depending on what level you play at is a quick way to get into trouble. Furthermore at $50 this makes Djay Pro the cheapest DJ software I have ever purchase to date so let’s not pretend like it is breaking the bank.

Don’t get me wrong I firmly believe this should be an option to play around with but coming across like they owe us or promised us this in some way just is not accurate IMO.

SO yeah Serato today announced they would offer streaming support via Pulselocker and guess what is included OFFLINE support.

https://serato.com/pulselocker?utm_so…

Yup you read that correctly…

“Would it be possible to download a whole playlist, for example?”

This is exactly what is being asked for in this thread…

How do you know you like it? It hasn’t been released yet and Pulselocker as it stands right now is not what it should be. A great idea yes but as of now that’s ALL it is.

I would have added my +1 IF this had been for Djay Pro. I have Djay 2 to play with but I have no professional use for mobile DJ apps as they stand.

This is NO different than using your iPhone as a mobile hotspot. Still not a proper answer.

A.) You use unnecessary data that you would not have to if the song was cached.

b.) You MUST still rely on a healthy signal

c.) It takes WAY less time

d.) There is less to connect on (AKA less to rely on) (AKA less that can go wrong)

… need I go on?

You pay for your connection all the same and it is JUST as secure as a dongle. There is literally almost no difference between the two but the fact remains this is NOT as beneficial as having proper offline support…

Sandboxing… Spotify also forbids this. Same with Deezer. Pulselocker is currently the ONLY streaming solution with licensing for public play as well as offline caching support via DJ apps. Blaming Algoriddim is easy to do sure but personally I prefer to keep things accurate.

First off no point in moving to lossless files as original is 320 at the highest. Second it is reasons like this that Spotify/algoriddim realistically know what to/not to offer. This is 100% up to Spotify an tthere is no more Pulselocker or any other streaming service offering offline use with dj apps.

Why not just use phone as mobile hot spot and stream on Mac if necessary? May be limited in some areas due to network but here in US (NY specifically) this is typically not a problem.

What kind of phone? I am assuming iPhone as I know Djay Pro is iOS only and all my iphones since iPhone 5 offered mobile hotspot and my iPhone 4S won’t support Djay Pro so process of elimination is forcing me to ask this question. Unless it is you network that won’t support mobile hotspot instead. Just curious is all…

Are you speaking to me in regard to what I said? If so …

“For me in addition to my MAC book I have DJay Pro on my phone. On that rare instance some request happens and I need to go fetch something from Spotify I can stream out from my phone to my mixer”

… clearly states he is using Djay Pro on his iPhone.

These adds are being posted all over DJ forums. DO not feed into it. Most of them do not work anyways… There are some that do if you really need one but get there on your own terms by searching etc.
