I bought djay pro kind of assuming playlists were available offline. Would never rely on an internet connection in a live scenario. I like the software, still play around with it at home. But, unless this is solved, I have a feeling that people will look towards serato + pulselocker instead. I really hope that we will see this feature soon!
hello every own ,
buy a DONGLE ,( internet connection everywhere you want )
and never again a problem with spotify ,
i play this weekend a party in a forest it was amazing ,
Spotify premium connection and djalgoriddim pro !
Dongle is ZTE823
Succes
its better than hotspot ,because you pay for a internet connection ,
8 till 12 euro for a month to use 2 Gigabyte and more, and much saver than a hotspot
Like many other topics ā¦ algoriddim remains silent. Maybe their focus is on your wallet instead of customer satisfaction. What could be the best DJ solution turns into domestic āCPU intensive & always onlineā software.
Can I just clarifyā¦ Does the app allow you to play offline music without streaming it or does the whole offline thing not make a difference when using the app? (if connected to the internet)
I have just put your link on the Twitter account of Djay2 and on the Facebook page of DJ School Amsterdam as well.
As a DJ who started in the 80ās, every record I played was purchased at a record store. I use Spotify mainly to find songs I donāt have in my personal library , then I purchase those songs from iTunes. Whenever Iām hired to DJ I make sure the establishment has wifi and that I will have access to it. I also work from a playlist thatās loaded in advance
Okay people, you need to scroll up and read the information posted above about WHY Djay2 cannot support offline.
Hi, developers!
I love what U have done with the CDJ integration, even though it sometimes get fucked up (i had my third deck using the DAc and sound card of my second deck a couple of times, but when I reboot itās all good! =)
As for the Spotify offline I was just wishing for an update ā are you making any progress? It sure would be a great feature!
Also, for the record, Iām with Bachya ā all of those whoās angry and donāt know how to behave, pull yourselves together, tell the developers youāre sorry, and politely post your feedback and/or requests! All they have done is make an affordable and rather cool software for DJing, and if it doesnāt please you, then feel free to use another software ā good luck in finding what you need elsewhere!!
Thank you for any and all answers to my request,
Erik
VOTE for djay access to Spotify offline!!!
Dear brothers and sisters, please go to Spotify Community and vote for idea of letting djay access to Spotify offline trucks. Success of this unique feature mainly is dependent on our kind request inside Spotify community.
This is second try within Spotify community, because first try was canceled due to small numbers of voters within definitive time.
So, please do it now!
Look for ides - Ability to use offline Playlists in the Djay app

Thank you in advance!
Oh dear, I was also a bit disappointed on using DJay Pro for my first DJ set and finding I was unable to access offline Spotify songs. Whatever the reason, this has turned out to be a big downside for my new system. What was also annoying was not being able to test out DJay Pro in a real situation before buying as the demo version would only let me play about 10 songs before shutting down mid song and asking if I wanted to buy the full version. If that hadnāt been the case, I couldāve found out the real situation before purchasing the software. I might not have bought it, but it would have been fairer. So Algoriddm, even if the reason for not being able to access offline spotify songs is not your fault - you could have helped!
Iām now hoping there will be a way round it or most venues I DJ at will have wifi. I really donāt want to have to purchase all the songs I use for DJing and put them into itunes, not only because of the expense (I already pay for Spotfy premium!) but because of the time it takes to transfer songs and re-make playlists that I have already made in Spotify.
Dont you have to download them tho?
i use spotify offline all the time and for gigs etcā¦i have downloaded all my songs into a separate playlist and all playlist can be played offline.i make sure i have all the latest hits so if im ever asked for a particular song its very rarely i dont have it and its never been an issue.
Hi there,
Last week I played a gig with spotify.
There was a mid strength wifi signal and had no problem at the sound check.
After a while people start to come and the wifi signal was blocked a bit and the song loading time got longer.
Then the venue got more crowded and the wifi signal got completely blocked (which I havenāt considered before)
Then I played some songs from the computer and connected the pc to internet via my cell phone.
But it was a silly situation.
To sum up, offline spotify support is needed
Plus 1 ā¦ me too
Luis
You are 100% spot on!
I will add that it is Spotify and not Algoriddim DJ, that isnāt facilating this request.
Well perhaps even more to the root of things, copy right laws.
In a professional / commercial setting Spotify is on thin ice. So thin, Spotify may not exist with the feature sets it has today, in future years.
If you are making money as a DJ, you should simply buy the tracks that you are using, and only turn to Spotify to meet requests, that are outside of your personal library. At least IMO.
Now, all of this being said, YES; it would be quite a thing if DJ PRO or PRO 2 was able to Cashe Spotify content. But who cares, we have been living and prospering without it since the birth of the mobile DJ industry.
Years later, and the answer from the powers that be is loud, and clear - NOā¦
If that changes, the same powers that be, will absolutely let everyone know, through this forum and all advertising channels, that they utilize.
Cheers
My company does approximately 200 weddings a season, and we send of team out with under 1000 songs. I never get reports about DJās getting complaints about not having a song. Our clients are always thrilled and have a good time.
On occasion, we donāt have a song. 99% of the time, it is one that wouldnāt play even if we had it. the other 1% of the time, we reachout to an online streaming service.
Most all weddings have dance receptions between 3-4 hours. At best, thatās around 80 tracks. 99% of all weddings, have at least 15-20 tracks that are identical, 75% have 50% that are idenctical. The balance, is always very predicable, and discerned by requests and monitoring whatthe quests are dancing to.
The only time this varies is for highly ethnic weddings, such as Hindu weddings and the alike. For such wedding, we make sure that are guys are equiped with at least 40 genre specific tracks, if you will. This represent 50-70% of most reception periods. If the client wants all Hindi music (as an example) we ask them to furnish us with a list of approximately 40 songs, from which, we can determine just what they are desiring. Then we find additional matching tracks, and add them to our primary music folder. In this way, we typically arrive on site with no less than 100 genre specific tracks. For us, in 2017, we only had 6 such weddings, and Spotify wouldnāt have been much helpā¦
What?
I think the difference here is that you are not a professional DJ.
This software is fantastic and it keeps getting better. I own Serato, VDJ8, Engine, and this software.
All things considered this is the best software for mobile DJās, even with itās so-called shortcomings.
Buy you music, and stop stealing it! Or at least invest in enough data to stream the rare song that you donāt have.
Spotify is the one that is not permitting this feature, not this software vendor.
It is a copyright issue rooted in royalty terms that Spotify has with the record companies, all wrapped up in various laws of each land, if you will.
Algoriddim DJ is working on DJ Pro 3. I am looking forward to buying it, so should you!
Buy the hard copies and get in the game at a professional level. I have easily over 20K in bought tracks. Each year I spend between $300-500.00 on new tracks.
I use Spotify only if I get a request that makes sense to play, and I donāt have the track, which is very - very - very - very rare.
Look, if youāre making under 10K a year, then I get who you are, but if youāre making 20-100K then just buy your music.
Decent idea!
