Please Allow Spotify OFFLINE

That’s theif!

That’s theif!

And imagine who many more lawsuits would be filed if they facilitated offline stores for use in their PROFESSIONAL software… They need another 20-billion in monthly subscriptions to be able to afford that nightmare. Perhaps 10-years from now…

Using you phone as an audio source makes sense for the odd request that pushes you out to Spotify. We have all done this I am sure, at some point.

Pulselocker is nothing like Spotify. This is alaughable comparision. visit beatport and you will discover first hand what I mean!

Guys Unlimited cellular data has arrived - get over this!

Seriously, who doesn’t have a millions songs on their hard drives these days. All loaded with cue points…

I almost never use Spotify live.

It is useful when building sets at home, from which one then downloads the actual hardcopy, if you will of the track, if they think it fits in the mix. It is an awesome try before you buy feature, or great if you get stumped on an odd request or two.

Buy your music, and bring it with you!!!

Or go with a the best cellar provider in your area, and stop worrying…

BS - Pros have their own music… its called an investment. That is what we sling, what we spin, it is what we are selling - Music - so just buy it and take it with you!

Just buy the music - brother!!!

No you are unreliable - your services are dependant upon your library not your connection to someone else’s.

I have well over 20 K invested in my library.

I never enter a venue without a the songs that i am likely to play already on my hard drive, plus an addition 50 or so thousand songs…

Wasting your breath. nothing new being said here.

It is also stealing… :frowning:

If you bought this software to gain access to free music, then I assume that you are also probably doing gigs using the automix.

Both add up to not being a real DJ, IMO.

Stealing music, then charging a client for you to automix, gives us al a bad name…

+1 Totally agree with Stuart Ross, ok so it basically doesn’t work without wifi so just be transparent about it and make potential customers aware of it BEFORE we part with our hard earned cash. I already own DJay 1 & 2 and only bought Pro because of the Spotify feature…didn’t make the shocking discovery it was unusable until I arrived at the venue. EPIC FAIL. I want a refund

This method works 90+% of the time. I did some research on the cache and it is located at ~/Library/Containers/com.algoriddim.djay-pro-mac/Data/Library/Caches/com.algoriddim.djay-pro-mac/Spotify/Storage. I was able to cache over 5GB of music for an event. The folder can hold “FF” (255) directories and each directory contains “n” songs. The songs and directories are overwritten in random order. But, if you pre-cache all your music you should be good to go.

If DJ Pro is pitched at being a tool for DJs playing out who want a rock solid experience then it HAS to support Spotify offline tracks.

No-one with any common sense is going to risk trying to play music to a room full of people relying on the local wi-fi signal.

In fact on the web site it does say “djay Pro combines rock-solid stability… for performing DJs.”

If the end user licence of Spotify excludes using it for public performance - then I am unsure why we are given these mixed messages - and wasting our time considering this tool?

I’ve been using Mixxx to play local files for the last few years (rock solid never had any issue when playing out) and just looking at Spotify as an option as a source of music - and am trialling DJPro 2 this weekend - oh well - looks like it is time to remove the trial.

Use your damn phone and set it up as a hotspot if its so important to you. Kids these days have no respect for the fact that their DJ elders actually had to do sets with a limited number of records that they lugged around themselves. Whipersnappers!

Spotify offline is one thing I could really use. Please Algoriddim, add it.

I bought the DJAY2 and DJAY PRO app for both iPhone, iPad and Mac the other day and I really like the layout. Today only minutes before the show I got aware of that my downloaded Spotify playlist didn’t work on my iPad PRO and there was no internet connection at the place! After a while I got a really slow 3G connection working shared from my iPhone witch made it possible to at least struggle through the setup.
The Spotify integration is really really nice but it is almost useless without offline-support. You never now where there is or isn’t a internet connection at the place you arrive to. Please work hard to get offline-support, it would make this app really awesome an useful.

When do you think there is a fix for this?

Regards Fredrick

Guess there are no further updates? Having Spotify tracks offline is the difference for djay pro between a professional trustworthy program and a gimmick.

it will be awesome if you can at least do this on the cpu version. i understand that sandboxing in the iOS can be an issue but it shouldn’t in the mac OS X.
