Quantize of Hot cues not working well.

Hey guys, just when I thought I’d got this sorted, the app has crashed twice tonight within half hour. Both WiFi and blue tooth are off. Any ideas?

Thanks @djqueenvic. I always appreciate the positive feedback :slightly_smiling_face:

And this need to be changed to be like almost every other software on the planet.

I agree, it’s a bit silly that I have to learn to hit the pad just before the downbeat. I am a drummer, I have very good timing. all quantise in any DAW will put the note perfectly in time, not move it back to the follow note. when would that ever be useful?

shall we set up a vote to try and get things changed?

@Deedot and @Nubium, as mentioned above, this has already been communicated to the engineering team and they are investigating options.

In the meantime, if you already have excellent timing, it will probably work more intuitively if you disable quantize and then correct any mis-timings with jogwheel nudging. Personally, this is how I normally do it.

Hello everyone. In djay 5.1.5, we have updated the way Hot Cues are quantized when beat jumping so that your timing can now be slightly late and it jumps to the closest beat interval instead of always the next beat interval.

You’ve got to hand it to algoriddam, listening to the community and implementing what they can and quickly. Good work

Nice!!! Now I’ll have to retrain myself to hit the pads differently now. I had to hit them on the & of 4 to make sure I was early

I just had a strange behavior last night. I’ve been having issues with the way the app quantize in the past if you press the performance pad a little late then the mix is messed up because it will be quantized to the bar after. However, last night it happened twice where I was in a loop I hit the hot Que pad And the app actually jumped to the bar before the hot cue. Somebody may try and ask me to replicate this, but this is an intermittent problem. Only happens after a few hours of DJing . I’m on 5.1.6

iPad, Mac or Windows?
Sometimes I have experienced this sort of behaviour with my iPad and generally I just perform a hard reset and it sorts it out

I should have said, Ipad. When you say hard, reset, Judas mean, turning it off and back on again?

No that’s what they call a soft reset.
A Hard Reset is performed a bit different depending on model of iPad,
For example, on the iPad Air 5th gen, to perform a hard reset you press the up volume then down volume quickly then press and hold the power button and keep it pressed until the apple logo appears, keep it pressed until the apple logo disappears and once it re appears, let go.

I do this every time before a gig as well as shut down any other apps that are running in the background.
I also turn off Bluetooth as well for te duration of the gig, and If I don’t plan on streaming, I also turn off Wifi…
A bit overkill but this method has been proven to me to eliminate any issues during the gig.
