An update. I wondering if this is a hardware issue from the Mixon 8. Maybe when it gets warm, it starts acting strangely.
It shouldn’t be discounted,
Do you have other dj software that you can try it on?
I have Cerrato. I’m dictating so I know that spelt wrong. The thing is it’s so intermittent that I would have to do a whole gig with Sorato and I just don’t wanna do that.
Your dictation spelt Serato incorrectly twice
Hi. I am still getting an issue when I hit a performance pad to jump to a hot cue. Again, this is an intermittent problem. I have quantize on and set one beat sink is on and if you watch this video where I’m jumping in and out of a loop every two beats most of the time it works, and then one time it fails. Again, I hate to say it, but I’ve never had this behavior on Cerrato or dennon. Yes, dictation has spelt it wrong but I find it funny.
I’m on version 5.2 of the djay app .
Mixon 8
iPad Pro 11”
On another example on this track, but this time I’m doing it every four beats
Information this is a new mix on eight so I’m not sure if maybe the physical buttons aren’t working temporarily
Happened a few times last night at a wedding event I did. This time the Loop is playing. I hit the performance pad and nothing happens. I need to hit it a few times for it to jump to the hot cue. I’ve never had this happen on any other software. Not sure whether it’s a hardware issue. As a reminder, I’m on the Mixon 8 with iPad Pro
Why don’t you try the same transition just using software? That way you will know whether software or hardware. Just a thought as having that happen at weddings is not good.
The thing is, it’s an intermittent problem. And it only seems to happen after a couple of hours. So I can test it on my iPad or even on my controller when no one is about but for some reason when I need it to work, it doesn’t
Sounds like an odd one. I’d still test with device only for a while to see if you can repeat. Least you might get to know.
When this happens to you next, can you see how the behavior of the crossfader is.
Move the crossfader on your controller from left to right in a fast motion and then a slow motion and see how precisely the movement is…
If you experience any lag, please report back
I don’t use the cross Vader.
And again , I’ll upload later
This is really bad !!! I look like a twat when it happens, really unprofessional. Please sort this very urgently
Thanks for the additional videos and for confirming that this happens when using the onscreen Hot Cues as well. I’ve shared this with engineering and will report back when I have news.
I might try to delete the app and reinstall. Is there a way to save all the settings and hot cues and BPM information that I can add again after I reinstall?
Hi @Nubium, you can backup your djay Media Library database and any custom MIDI mappings, then uninstall djay, reboot your device, and reinstall the latest version of djay. You can find the files above in the following locations. Please note, BPM information will automatically be reanalyzed the next time you load your songs.
- iOS: using the Files App, navigate to Locations->On My iPhone/iPad->djay->User Data
- macOS: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912211-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-playlists-cue-points-and-other-data-on-my-Mac
- Windows: https://help.algoriddim.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014912131-Where-does-djay-Pro-store-cue-points-and-other-metadata
- Copy the files to a new location or external drive before uninstalling djay. After reinstallation, you can simply copy these files back to their original locations to maintain your Hot Cues, Saved Loops, My Collection Playlists, History and Queue.
