RANE System One Support

It’s a great question, if it’s still using engine as the underlying firmware then should be able to

Wow it was set up and updated in minutes. I’m gutted it doesn’t fit in my Rane One bag as I am back out tonight and don’t have a case or decksaver yet.

Get out there and find more gigs to pay for it, don’t forget to write it off as a business expense! :joy:

I mean it’s compliant. The screens will work on iOS and iPad OS. I’m saying finally it’s becoming standard. Again. Finally.

I believe the “screen support” is mainly down to the way the Rane works when interfacing with external devices, rather than any changes to the devices or their software.

Ok. i understand. That makes sense. i appreciate you clearing that up for me. don’t mean to be an asshole lol. I just wish we had a device that uses DJay pro with all its features built in. Not sure if there’s a big enough demand for it yet. I made my mind up last night I’ll wait to see what controller Reloop brings after the Mixon 8 Pro. The screen itself on that new Rane doesn’t impress me. Been spinning on the phone for years now. I do like the class compliant factor though.

I was also hoping for an update to the Mixon 8 too.

I’m with you. I’ll wait for Rane System Four

Need beta testers @Slak_Jaw ?

Hi @gizmo, this hardware is already supported so I don’t think we need any beta testers for it. Thanks for the offer though.

Great! Excited to get using it :raising_hands:

At the moment, the device isn’t yet recognized when plugged in :grimacing:

Yes, that is expected behaviour until the next djay update.

Yes it’s called a Rane Perfomer. They never have a 4 channel layout like the Rane One.

I hear you but I’m not sure. I think they will. Rane System One. Rane One, Rane Four, Rane Performer. Just because it’s called System One, leads me to think if there is appetite there will be a System Four. Rane System appears to be a new line.

I completely agree. I’d be really, really surprised if the Rane System One was unique in the range. But I do wonder how that will impact the Denon DJ Prime series going forward. I wonder if Rane will be for spinning platters, and Denon DJ will cover the non-spinning platters options? But both running this new hybrid Engine OS underneath.

100%. With these new chips you’re going to see a whole new range of controllers from InMusic with Engine DJ inside. System One is the beginning. I like the System One but I’d rather wait and see what comes down the line. I have flx 10 anyways and that will serve me for few years yet. If however a System Four drops on 18 months 2 years then I’ll be tempted, especially with Algoriddim being supported. That would be class. Be interesting to see how System One works with IOS. Plugging in your phone and putting to one side and just working from the screen will be dope. Maybe you’ll be able to have a split screen situation. Samples, Looper or touch fx pad on iPhone or iPad let’s say, or even engine lighting console on iPad and playlists, wave forms etc on System One screen. I’ve asked on couple of places if Engine Lighting and Djay Pro on System One will work together. Not had a reply yet. That will be amazing if it can.
