I can report the same issue on an ipad 3. playback freezes almost every time a new song is selected. unfortunately this is a show stopper for what otherwise is a great app
Ever since updates for djay for Mac & iPad, I am getting random freezing, distortion and complete freezing of my vestax spin controller, please fix urgently, I use this set up(iPad/vestax spin) for paid work!!!
Urgent,
I have a Macbook Pro and it will monetarily freeze the audio output while searching the library or dragging a song into the automix queue. A few seconds later, it comes back as if it has some type of buffering issue or the processor is at capacity.
I’ve got the same issue with 1.5 on my iPad2. It tends to happen on the 5th or 6th song I load up in a mix. The song’s BPM is already detected, but it seems that after loading the 5th or 6th song, which freezes Djay momentarily, every couple of songs thereafter will freeze up Djay as well - even songs that I’ve loaded up with no problem before. I even tried restarting the iPad, closing ALL other apps etc., and nothing seems to alleviate this.
I too am having this issue with my iPad 2. It worked perfectly until I updated to version 1.5. I’m thinking about switching back until the issue is resolved.
Yes. Going back to version 1.4.2 until a newer update finds a solution will solve the problem. DISCLAIMER: Save your recordings to a computer before deleting the current version. Reverting back to a previous version will delete any saved recordings.
- Audio & animation cut, iPad 3 IOS 5.1.1, latest Djay version…
- After recording, the playback is smooth…
- I’m offered a live session with the iPad but in need of update quick…!
- Witch means I can’t do live sessions with this AUDIO CUT.
- It’s random, sometimes a song won’t cut, but when used again some other time it does cut the audio, even in the same session
Good luck and thanks in advance!
Is going back a few versions a solution? Maybe the older ones are working well?
Will this remove my saved Cue points and BPMs? And still have FX and multiple cue point saving?
Same problem as this…

Hi guys, when I’m loading a new track, the existing track that’s playing often jumps slightly which is really annoying when out playing live. This seems to be happening more and more now. I just wondered if anyone else has had problems with this and if anyone knows of a fix at all? Cheers, Brian.

The track that is playing jumps / glitches when loading a new track on the other turntable.
Just buy Traktor. It works.
Just buy Traktor. It works.
Well will wait to have it fixed. It’s a great software.
Question: is there a way to revert to previous version of Djay on iPad 3?
same happening here. it happens randomly; no related message on console.
I guess hardware is not the issue since I’ve seen here the same problem with 16GB RAM MacBook Pro.
sometimes, just audio. but most of the time it happens both cut out.
I’ve just downloaded this app and get the same problem - I’m only running this app on my Macbook and it keeps freezing!!!
Looking at these comments this problem has been there a few months - is there a fix yet?
I have been using djay for years. This is a new problem. As transition happens from one turntable to the other the first few seconds skips and I hear a 1 or 2 second sound byte of the previous song. I am using Lion 10.7.4 and the problem must have certainly occurred in the last version update since I have never had any issue whatsoever like this. Djay has always been rock solid. I play live all of the time and this is the first issue, but it is a major issue.
When I turn “Pre-Cueing” to “Mix”…Problem is fixed. Problem seems to be related to Pre-Cuing feature. Never had the issue in previous versions using same setup.
I close all other programs when using djay to avoid any interference. I am using a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo i7 currently, 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. 439 GB of available Hard Drive space.
I have the same problem as everyone else.
I’ve been using DJay with TOTAL reliability for several years - so this problem is definitely a recent one. I’m sticking with v3.0 on a pre-intel powerbook until its fixed! Not so sexy but rock solid…
I run this on an iMac i5 and have never experienced this issue. I can’t see how it can be related to hard drive going to sleep - why would it go to sleep during a set? wonder if its an issue between file types? i.e. mp3 on one deck aac on the other? just an idea. or maybe some other ap working in the background like trying to retrieve emails or something
