In this request I am suggesting an alternative : make way simpler the transfer of library between devices (including iOS/iPadOS) or the export of playlists to USB keys.
Itās currently impossible to do between windows and macOS too which sucks, since I do most of my downloading and listening on my windows machine and playing on my Mac.
Will it take 10 years to get this feature? Can we have playlist data and hotcues, etc just sync to djay pro cloud? Whatever device you log in on can access librarydata that from the login. Surely itās just a table to data and barely a few megabytes?? I just want my playlist and then i can direct djay pro to autolocate the playlist tacks in a folder.

** Iām a new djay PRO user and need help getting my playlists working on my iPad.
I have a yearly subscription, and everything works perfectly on my MacBook, but I donāt know how to transfer my playlists from the MacBook app to the iPad app.
Manually transferring the library file and copying songs results in the iPad app reporting that files are missing from the disk.
Can anyone help me?
I tried one method: iTunes. It doesnāt see all the songs in the playlists. What did I do?
I used MIXO to export the playlists from djay PRO on MacBook to iTunes on Macbook. I imported them in iTunes, but I also got a message that not all the songs were included in the playlists because they werenāt foundā¦
Thatās strange, because theyāre all there when I imported/exported from MIXO. Any ideas why I get this message when importing the library/playlist to iTunes?
Unless itās possible to import playlists from djay PRO on a Macbook without using external software like MIXO or LExicon DJ?**
Hi @Arek, welcome to the Community! Iāve merged your new topic with this existing one. Please refer to the workaround solution above and let me know if that helps:
I think weāll never get syncing between MacOS and iOS without using iCloud.
Itās also not worth talking about syncing between Windows/Android and MacOS/iOS.
I have tracks on MacOS and the same tracks on my iPhone, but I donāt have the ability to sync the djay pro database from MacOS with the database on iOS.
To be honest, with iTunes long dead and Apple Music-the-app not getting any local music management features in over 10 years, the best way forward for own music management would probably be if djay added support for the OpenSubsonic API or Plex API, youād just connect to your own library with all your local music, and have playlists fully synced back and forth, plus downloads/offline caching to devices.
Basically, like AM/Tidal/Spotify, but for your own (purchased) tracks, not 3rd party.
Thanks for the feedback @certuna
I disagree @certuna
I still use iTunes.
It is still much alive.
I buy a song on my phone.
Sync in iTunes on my Mac.
Bam! The iPad has the song.
Not only is it alive, it syncs extremely fast too.
Hi everyone,
Iām using Djay Pro AI on a MacBook Air M2 (2023) and an iPad 4. generation .
All my music is stored on an external hard drive.
Iād like to know:
How can I keep my playlists synced between my MacBook and iPad (offline solution)?
And how can both devices access the same external drive?
I never use them at the same time ā itās always either the MacBook or the iPad.
I also have no internet connection, and my music is not stored in iTunes or any online platform.
Has anyone found a good offline workflow or a smart solution for this setup?
Thanks a lot for your help and any tips you can share! ![]()

Hi @TABAN,
Thanks for your questions!
While there is no ārightā or āofficialā solution for what you are looking to do as of today, weād encourage you to be a part of our mailing list and or regularly check in on the General category of our forum for new updates to djay.
Additionally, I know some of our power users likely have some interesting suggestions that Iām sure theyāll share in this topic.
Out of curiosity are your tracks stored in subfolders of subfolders such as āYear ā Genre ā Artist ā Album ā Trackā or are they filed as something more broad like āFeelingā or āBPMā in which a large pool of songs just stays in that single category?
Probably an update for this thread, with the 5.5 update and onelibrary, using a usb stick, I think we can now sync djay pro playlists in an official way.
Wish the iCloud style would be an option for those of us who use iCloud. I donāt want to have to rely on a usb stick. This is 2025!
Itās definitely a major improvement. But it is in no way a sync feature. I havenāt tested it yet myself, but according to various YouTubers, on iOS/iPadOS the OneLibrary is read only. So, you canāt export changes made on iOS/iPadOS back onto the USB stick.
Hey there @Taban
In my case, I own my music.
I mostly donāt use streamed music.
Store your music in your Mac.
Sync your devices to the Mac via iTunes.
Youāll be able to use Djay on both devices offline.
It works for me try it.
I know there is new way with the latest update,
I have tried this method yet.
Hi there, all my tracks are in one folder , there is no subfolder . thank you
ā¦still waiting.
Imagine this ā Iāve got all my playlists, grids, and cue points perfectly dialed in on my macOS setup at the booth. Then, while Iām on the go and get a great idea, I open the app on my phone to test it out. I create a new set in one of my playlists, and a few hours or days later, Iām back at the booth ready to practice that same set on my Mac or iPad.
Thanks for the additional input @Half
This is the very reason why I stopped using my iPad to mix.
iPad vs iPhone- iPad wins.
But because the phone is more portable and connected on the go via AirPods or CarPlay,
The phone wins.
Wasnāt this issue of syncing data on the new update supposed to finally solve this issue?
Sorry friends, havenāt been available lately.
