I tried this identical setup today, after updating my iPad to iOS 10.2.
It works!
The behavior is just how it was in earlier versions of iOS after the issues are resolved. USB output and headphone (3.5mm) can be used at the same time, with stereo output, and working pre-cue. This was not working in iOS 10.1.x but does now work as expected in 10.2.
Please try your devices and setups again. I’d like to hear from those who were having difficulties about whether or not the 10.2 update has resolved your problems as well.
The Zalman I’m using, shown above in earlier posts, is powered completely by USB on my iPad Air, in iOS 10, using an Apple CCK. I’ve used this setup successfully in iOS 9, but until 10.2 was released, it wasn’t working as it should with pre-cue on the headphone jack.
djay is software that I use weekly to play back a set of tracks for a radio show, and it’s never had reliability issues for me. I do not make play queues on the iPad, preferring to do everything beforehand in iTunes.
I’m having the same issue with iOS 8.0.2 and my line6 sonic port. It either outputs from the sonic port or the headphones not both. I hope you guys can sort this with apple I sent apple this…
Since the iOS 8 update I can’t seem to get dual stereo outputs to work. Which was a feature within ios7 which enabled you to output stereo sound simultaneously from the earphones and the Lightning port via an external supported soundcard such as the Line6 sonic port.
its primary function was with apps such as Djay and tracktor. Please can you make this work again because alot of us have spent a great deal on these apps and interfaces only to find there not working anymore.
I tried using different dj apps (not that I wanted to) and a found the same problem… If they even had the split stereo function. To be honist I’m finding ios 8 pretty buggy anyway. The only thing is I have quite a big gig comming up and I really need to be able to cue.
Yeah well I think ive cocked up this isn’t an update… It’d just an android version I didn’t see the shadow under the djay logo! So I guess we’re back to square one again.
I’ve tried most of the dj apps now that include pre-cueing and they don’t work either.
I seriously think that iOS 8 has something missing that Ios 7 had
I don’t know how to get it but I hope something will change soon. I’m also keeping my eye on the native threads too just incase that leeks an useful tips
Can everyone with this issue please boost my apple post to get some kind of response out of somebody. The same thing is happening with all other djing apps. Users of native instruments Traktor are up in arms about it. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/…
Still got the problem with my line 6 sonic port… Apparently N.I.'s audio 2 sound card has the same problem but it’s still on the market?? I dunno why everyone’s so hush hush about it
