Hi,
Since the new djay version 5.4 (for macOS/iOS/Windows/Android), the Cue Points/Loops bank has doubled, so it’s now necessary to map switching to the second bank to a button (or buttons). Luckily, Algoriddim has added two MIDI commands for this.
With a Reloop controller (like me), it would be ideal if this second bank could be assigned to the secondary function of the Hot Cue bank. Unfortunately it looks like the Performance mode switches on the Reloop can’t be directly assigned to a MIDI function.
In the 5.4 release video, there was a suggestion to assign the second bank to the Parameters Up & Down knobs, but those already have other useful functions mapped (scrolling/skipping to a track), so that’s not ideal either.
I’m curious what alternative solutions people like @Slak_Jaw and others have found for assigning the secondary bank function.
Now that I think of it, it’s a pity they didn’t also add a toggle function for switching between Bank 1 and Bank 2 (just like the toggles for EQ/Neural Mix or Elapsed/Remaining time, etc.).
That would have made much more sense, as you’d only need to assign one button to switch, saving an extra button and one more thing to remember.
By the way, I noticed that the toggle for switching between EQ and Neural Mix, although it was working, wasn’t visible or assigned in the MIDI settings screen, not even in the default “Built-in” settings. Is that a bug?
Hi @DJ_Big_Blender, I’d probably map this to SHIFT + Slip/Vinyl since I never change from CDJ to Vinyl
Mode.

Hmm, yes, that might be the best option, but it’s still not perfect since it’s not a quick access.
It’s such a shame the performance mode buttons can’t be used for MIDI assignments.
Maybe SHIFT + SYNC? I currently have this mapped to Quantize which I rarely change as well. Its close proximity to the performance pads and shift button would make it more convenient. Personally, I will likely only use hot cues 9-16 as visual markers of important sections in the track and will rarely need to actually activate them via the performance pads.

Thanks for the helpfull input, much appreciated!
For me I think it’s a bit too risky to have a second function so close to SYNC. I really don’t want to risk hitting that the wrong way by accident. (Btw: like you, I rarely use Quantize either).
For me, I think I will end up using Cues 9–16 more and more, especially now that you can also set Cue Loops in the same row, which is super convenient.
Thinking about it though: mapping to SYNC or Slip/Vinyl won’t really work because it’s not a simple toggle to switch banks, but two separate functions.
Did you already talk to them about that and do you think there’s any chance the devs might add a true toggle function for Bank 1/2 in the future, or should I submit a feature request for it?
You’re welcome @DJ_Big_Blender. Please submit a feature request for the toggle behaviour.
Hi again @DJ_Big_Blender, out of curiosity, how do you plan to use the second bank of hot cues? Do you have something specific in mind or simply use them the same as the 1-8 bank?
Excellent question!
I just use it as an extension of Bank 1. With loops now being stored in the same row as hot cues, having the second bank available is sometimes necessary.
