Why don't release the djay PRO for Windows?

Are macbooks still not touchscreen?

I downloaded it and played with it all weekend. Feedback was sent. Keep up the good work!!!

Not supporting a platform such as Windows that has 90% of all PC marketshare vs. OSX that has +/- 10% of market share makes no sense whatsoever. I know everybody has their preference of OS, but to limit yourselves makes no sense.

MixVibes Cross DJ, check it out. Very stable and brilliant.

yes, try the full version demo (at top right of their website). I do dig Algoriddim’s products. They are doing great stuff. I don’t have a Mac laptop, so it’s only iPad and Windows laptop for me. I will test out dJay Pro on a Mac soon.

Hi DJ Ivan, I think you need to drag the files into the Track Collection list or onto a Deck (then they can be analyzed). Also check the Prefs for customization options. MixVibes support is responsive also.

same here. I’m out.

Hi DJ Ivan, true, Algoriddim has the market on the Spotify integration feature. But for non-Internet-streaming DJing, I found the latest MixVibes Cross to be rock solid and easy to use. I personally like MixVibes Cross DJ more than Traktor. All depends on how someone is DJing and what their goals are.

Breakdown and buy a Mac. You will never go back to Windows…

I am a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and I know the Microsoft OS is Crap…

If you want djay on windows install bluestacks android for windows, then download the android djay and wham!

Tried it too and it does not work on Bluestacks unfortunately :frowning:

I love the Vjay iPad app and use it for gigs, but video resolution & iPad storage space are serious limitations. A lot of event DJs & VJs use PC laptops, so a Windows version is essential for the future of Algoriddim. Maybe partnering up with a pro DJ/VJ service like Promo Only or a hardware controller manufacturer would give Algoriddim the front money needed to hire more developers. VJ has a great UI that would guarantee a huge market for this software if it is sold at a decent price point. Algoriddim is missing out on money here. Other companies will corner the PC market if Algoriddim takes too long on this!

Threads like this should be for civil, intelligent conversation between users and useful advice for developers (in terms of user and marketplace needs ). Anything else is a useless distraction. Everybody please ignore any Mac-centric attempts to shut down this thread through negative commentary. We should keep pressing Algoriddim to support more platforms. DJing is not just for event companies. It’s a creative, dynamic art that is open to people of all ages, countries, cultures, income levels and application uses. Multimedia software addresses a much larger market than the mobile DJ set. (And, to be fair, not all mobile DJs or event companies should be judged by one myopic commentator!) Keep on reaching for that dream everybody. This is a DIY world, and there are no real limits to what the imagination can achieve!

I have recent model iPads with the latest software & App updates, and I’ve had several crashes (during gigs!) with the most recent Djay update. My iPads were fully powered and I left headroom for processing needs (in other words, I didn’t fill my devices to max capacity and left plenty of memory for processing).
I’d like to try a version of the Djay App on a Surface Pro to see if it could handle more. I love my iPads, but their memory & processing limits make me want a PC option. More choices & platforms can’t hurt if the development is done right. Of course, if Algoriddim’s developers are iOS only, I’d rather them stick to what they know rather than waste time on a buggy PC version. Maybe we should be asking them for an upgraded Mac version of Veejay. I just want something reliable, high resolution and as user friendly as the Veejay App. I find the other higher end VJ software out there to be cumbersome & too CPU intensive for my laptops.

While I too wish I could use my PCs with this and other software I can say it is unlikely you will go back to Windows exclusively. Why not use both and get the best of all worlds?

In all fairness it is not Algoriddim limiting anyone here. In choosing one (or the other) platform alone you are quite literally self inflicting the same creative limits you are speaking of avoiding.

In a sense there absolutely ARE “real limits to what the imagination can achieve” but these limits are avoidable by the choices we make.

I am by no means attempting to deter anyone from wishing, hoping or asking for Algoriddim to release a Windows version of this app but I don’t find this proactive nor do I see any real gain. At best it would be a “port” and by no means anything worth trusting your craft to. This is a lesson I learned the hard way with Serato. They DO support Windows but this word “support” is used very loosely in my experience.

While by definition this post IS negative commentary but then again so would Algoriddim simply saying no. It is useful IMO but I am by no means forcing anyone to use it.

Lastly I am by no means making any judgements of any kid but more or less explaining that IF there are any obstacles or creative limits present in your “DJ life” it is not Algoriddim who is presenting them. Getting one developer to support one OS is a small step at best. IMO the fastest and most effective way to open your creative options and get closer to the “limitless” concept you seek would be to NOT limit yourself to one hardware, software or OS on YOUR end.

Just seems obvious to me.

This kind of makes no sense though. It’s not the power that is ever the issue usually. Even with regular dj apps. It is the vast configurations and incompatibilities that usually lead to issues. If you think the few times the app crashes with iOS is inconvenient it would only get worse. Maybe a newer iPad is your solution as there is literally nothing I can do with djay (even while streaming) to strain my devices enough to crash or even stall.

“Algoriddim’s developers are iOS only, I’d rather them stick to what they know rather than waste time on a buggy PC version”

VERY well though out and said. I know most want for PC just to be invited to the party and nothing more. Using the same team every minute spent on adding Windows support (or supporting the VAST configurations of PC hardware) is a minute not spent on improving what we already have. For the user who simply looking to get what they are entitled to as a paying customer here I can say I fully agree.

Same thing happens with other software as well where the PC users eventually get a port and they are up in arms because things are not exactly same across the two platforms. TBH I always say the easiest way to fix a problem is to get rid of said problem altogether and this happened the day they decided to release a port IMO. If however they have the resources to release a full dedicated build for windows OS (which I believe is not the case here) then sure the right thing to do would be to release for both platforms.

I am by no means looking to start the Mac Vs. PC debate. I have a few of each thus I have my own opinions. The point here though is I get the chance to have these opinions. In other words if you do this professionally then why not have both so you do not limit yourself in any way. TRUST Djay is NOT the only app available for ONLY apple. I don’t personally use any music related apps for Windows but I am sure there are some dedicated for PC as well.

That is your prerogative. In all fairness though you guys are a little out of place being you are posting on thread titled “Why don’t release the djay PRO for Windows?” not please improve Djay 2 for iOS. And when you say “i have not find another software (or app) that solve perfectly and easily the sync function as djay 2 does” are you speaking of with the iPad or Mac. TRUST there are plenty that do what you are looking for on Mac. I am not surprised if there aren’t any for iPad though as why would there be? Mobile is just not there yet. Need proof … just read your own words.

I understand but IF they released a version for Windows it would be Djay Pro not Djay2 remember.
