I just want better music discovery or ‘match’ features. I recently dabbled (and came screaming back) with Rekordbox - BUT - its match is much, much better. I will say Virtual DJ is probably better than everyone (in that department). It is an incredibly nice feature to have for mobile DJs who are flying through songs. Sometimes your playlists you’ve spent 10 hours building will only get you so far and it’s nice to have a suggested curve ball to throw you in another direction.
As im mostly a hobby n stream Dj and mostly used vinyl or dvs(love the feel of how i started off Djing)
I have just recently got the hercules mix ultra controller, its compact and small and only does 2 decks it would be nice to have it mapped for 4decks with a 1/3 or2/4 shift switch feature.
In the reading here regards library management i have 6000 tracks in label folders then incrimented into roughly around 100 track playlists, which if my brain remembers i can find a track easily, coming from 30yr picking out that vinyl from a collection of 1500 i always new where to find that song and so thats why i curate my library the same way, with odd tracks was always an alphabetical order of artist or track which ever my brain found easier to manage,it is hard getting a Dj software to co-inside with your mind but once you get it there its bliss, regards transition from one bpm to another you best to get a track or make one with just a beat and use it as a dj tool, record a stem of a beat outro at eg. 90bpm increase pitch to eg 130 then save it as a tool, like on turntables in the chorus with no beat i would increase the pitch to the next level, hope all enjoyed the read😁, peace out and mix on for life lovelies😍
I have another one. I absolutely love that VDJ goes FULL screen on Macs with the notch. Somehow they do this when tons of other Mac developers don’t, including Apple! But this would seem 100% like something Algoriddim would pull off!
In graphic software essential for my work, such as Maya and Adobe software, I can freely customize the UI and window layout. This is extremely convenient and allows me to work efficiently. In short, it’s comfortable.
However, I don’t know of any DJ software that allows me to freely customize the window layout and size for each function.
Why isn’t such a feature implemented?
While Djay makes it easy to turn things on/off, I think it would be even better if it had a function to freely arrange things within the limited screen space.
In the Mixtour Pro, for example, this is handled so that double-tapping the respective pad also switches the view. If this could be applied to other controls as well, that would certainly be a nice feature for many users. On the other hand, I wouldn’t think a default automatic switch would be a good idea. Especially when using an iPad or iPhone, it makes sense to have the touchscreen as an additional option for triggering different actions. And with this double-tap, you have the choice of whether you want it to work that way or not.
Nice to know, since I’m using a Mixtour Pro next to Xone K2s and Launchpad I didn’t know that before.
I think, it could be implemented via the midi mapping menue. For Example if you choose “jump to hot cue 1” and assign this to the controller, there could be a check box “switch to corresponding view”. If unchecked, the current behavior will remain. So the user could choose, if the view changes or not.
I am using a Launchpad Pro MK3 with several pages of 8 x 8 pads (called costum mode). Unfortunately Launchpad cannot show LED MIDI feedback in this mode. So for example on my page for Instant FX, I cannot see, which FX are activated without switching to the FX menue on screen.
