Same is happenning to me, I have djay Pro AI 4.0.1 installed in my ipad with IPadOS 15.5. Any update?
Since the latest update this issue is now happening to me on Beatport Link also and the Tidal issue still isnt fixed.
This thread was opened 6 months ago and I am shocked that Algoriddim has still not addressed it. How can Algoriddim advertise that they are compatible with these premium streaming services if they donāt reliably work within the DJAY software?
Please advise when you expect streaming within DJAY will be functional again!
So I paid for this service, only recently, now Iām finding out itās essentially a scam because it doesnāt work as intended? They surviving on one month and done subs? I went looking for answers, find a 6 month old thread thinking āwell, cool, same issue 6 months ago? Thereās a fix for sure!ā nopeā¦ sub cancelled.
When using Tidal in my iPad or Mac, all with the most recent updates, there are severe connectivity issues when trying to load a song. I have the highest quality Tidal subscription. I have analyzed all songs on my Tidal playlists, but still when I load one song, sometimes it comes up very quickly, sometimes it takes minutes to finally load it completely, and sometimes it doesnāt load beyond the 6 bar. This is a very annoying issue and makes the software unreliable for any live gig. Most recent example of a song getting stuck was Stranger Things from Kygo and One Republic. The issue happens when using the HiFi audio quality on Tidal.
This issue is very random.
There is a well know bug with streaming services since the 4.0 update documented in several other posts. According to several users, if you reduce your quality settings in Tidal this should help. At least temporarily until Algoriddim releases a fix.
Thanks. They had it fixed in a previous version, but it started happening again.
Hi @afsaba,
Iāve moved your post to this already existing thread on the same topic. We are aware of this issue, and our Team is actively investigating this. Iāll keep this thread updated with any news. Thanks in advance for your patience.
since updating to the first v4 djay version -and including update released a couple of days later- it cannot analyze tidal tracks when in hifi. progress bars donāt move as soon as it starts analyzing and gets stuck like that. everything works fine when downgrading quality. bug behaves identically in iPad Pro (M1) and MPB14 (M1 pro).
when loading previously analyzed tracks itās a hit or miss whether files wile play past 6bars. same bug that appeared about a year ago. again, this bug disappears when downgrading quality to āhighā.
Not that this helps you but I donāt bother using Tidal HiFi anymore for the main reason that it took too long to load tracks no matter how strong of an internet connection I hadā¦
And to be honest I couldnāt really tell the difference in quality between High and HiFi.
Yeah, Iām on a similar boat. The Tidal hifi experience has been very frustrating, with slow loading times and impossibly long delays when previewing tracks. But because I like mixing local lossless files with Tidal sometimes, Iām not willing to give up this just yet. Iād rather move to another mixing software first. Iām hoping this gets resolved soon, though.
Hi @egalar,
It sounds like youāre experiencing the issue on this already existing thread, so Iāve moved your posts over here. We are aware of this issue, our Team is actively investigating this, and Iāll keep this thread updated with any new information. Thanks in advance for your patience!
Iāve found a significant difference for track load times from Tidal between IPv4-only networks and networks with IPv6 enabledā¦not simply at home (where I have a native v6 connection and network configured to make use of it), but in 2 other places as well: the v4-only network with 100Mbps DL speeds was slower than the dual-stack (v6 enabled) 5Mbps connection. re-read that: a 20x slower connection loaded tracks faster over v6 than v4. It shouldnāt happen because "it doesnāt or shouldnāt matter, " but having seen it with my own eyes, Iāve started to reconsider
While we may not care to put some time into learning these things, itās a matter of needing to know to do our jobs/have great gigs/look professional and knowlegable, and that includes some basic troubleshooting of the medium/systems we rely on to get what we need to use.
I read several threads from 2021 here that indicate a problem that Iām having, but the threads are closed saying the issue was resolved. My issue that is very much NOT resolved is that certain songs from the Tidal library do not download entirely when HiFi quality is selected. I get a handful of bars (like 8 ish) and no more waveform downloads and the song just stops playing leaving a sound vacuum.
The recommended solution from last year was to downgrade my quality from āHiFiā to āHighā - which does work. But I pay for HiFi quality on DJ Proās partner, Tidal. These two should get along and this problem should have been fixed 18 months ago, to be honest.
helpā¦!
Ron
Could you post a link to one of the songs that fail?
Just tried it here, and I canāt reproduce.
You linked to an album (Saturday Night Fever Sound Track), and I played the first minute or so of all the tracks with no issue.
I am on MacOS Monterey 12.5 and Tidal Hifi.
Could it be that your network connection has issues?
Unfortunately this is still an issue and is the reason I no longer use the app.
Here is the original thread which I started a loooooooooong time ago:
Now Iām questioning whether itās the app (djay) or the service (Tidal) or whether Tidalās DNS records and/or how theyāre pointed to their database is an issue. Or would that indicate a userās providerās DNS having a problem? (as an aside or maybe for further proof of Tidal having the problem, Iāve had music come up in their app that was NOT what I selected, which led me to ponder metadata and/or database corruption on their end/servers). Seeing as weāre all Tidal subscribers, perhaps we should also take these things up with them, as it may not be a djay/algoriddim issue.
Itās not DNS, most certainly. DNS is about resolving a name to a serverās IP address and if that got mixed up I would expect users to see effects beyond what this issue is about.
Iām perfectly fine with being wrong in assumptions or analysisā¦but users should hold Tidal to account as much as they do algoriddim for djay. squeaky wheels get greased, so anybody having issues should let the people they pay know, right?
